TONIGHT OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL PLAINS...
THE NATIONAL SEVERE STORMS FORECAST CENTER IN KANSAS CITY IS
FORECASTING AN OUTBREAK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING
WINDS...LARGE HAIL...AND A FEW TORNADOES OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTH
CENTRAL UNITED STATES.
THE STATES MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE
THE BRUNT OF THE SEVERE WEATHER INCLUDE...
MOST OF NORTHERN
TEXAS...INCLUDING THE TEXAS PANHANDLE WESTERN AND CENTRAL
OKLAHOMA PARTS OF SOUTHERN AND WESTERN KANSAS
THIS IS A
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE
HAIL...AND A FEW STRONG TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE.
WARM...VERY
MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR WILL CONTINUE TO SURGE NORTHWARD THROUGH THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS TODAY IN ADVANCE OF A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
DEVELOPING OVER WESTERN KANSAS AND EASTERN COLORADO. A COLD FRONT
ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOW WILL ADVANCE EASTWARD THROUGH WESTERN TEXAS
INTO WESTERN OKLAHOMA THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING...COLLIDING
WITH THE WARMER MORE HUMID AIR AHEAD OF IT. IN ADDITION...THE JET
STREAM WILL FLOW ACROSS THIS REGION TODAY AND TONIGHT PROVIDING
FURTHER ENERGY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
THIS SITUATION WILL
RESULT IN AN OUTBREAK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH THE GREATEST
THREAT OF TORNADOES...DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL OVER NORTHWEST
AND NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS...WESTERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...AND MUCH OF
WESTERN AND CENTRAL KANSAS. THE DANGER OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE
ESPECIALLY HIGH THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING.

REMAINING PORTIONS OF OKLAHOMA AND KANSAS...AS WELL AS OVER
